Guest Information

Dear Guests,

We are delighted to welcome you to Madeira Cottage and wish to assure you that we have taken all possible precautions to ensure that your visit is protected from coronavirus. Set out below are the measures that we have taken for your safety.

What we will do:

  • We have compiled a Risk Assessment to identify potential problems and a list of what steps we are taking to minimise those by our housekeeping precautions.

  • We have agreed on rigourous cleaning protocols to be implemented, as ever, between each changeover.

PPE

  • The cleaning process is undertaken with full protection.

  • Hand sanitiser is also stationed in the entrance hall.

  • A supply of facemasks and gloves is also available on request.

Minimal contact

  • In order to avoid one-on-one contact, keys are posted to your home address, unless advised otherwise, approximately one week before your visit. All information about the cottage will be made available online or by email. In the house we will laminate all information documents, but ask that you use the electronic versions as your first point of reference.

What you can do:

Check-in/Checkout

  • Please do not arrive before 4pm, (one hour later than normal). For the moment we must ask guests to leave the cottage by 9 am, also one hour earlier than normal, to be able to begin the cleaning process promptly at 10 am.

  • During your stay, please be aware of the potential for infection. Please place items that might need to be individually sanitised (e.g. books, toys et cetera) in the special basket provided. Of course most items (TV remote, handles et cetera) will be automatically included in every clean, but this is not physically possible for the entire library! Please note that we have a slightly reduced inventory in the kitchen to what we hope will be an acceptable level. Please ask, should you be in need of an obvious absent item.

On departure

  • Beds and bedding, laundered at high temperature, are made up for you on arrival. Exceptionally, at the end of your stay, we have to ask you to strip the beds and place all sheets and linen in the big bags provided.

  • If the weather allows, please leave upper floor windows open. Please put all used crockery and utensils in the dishwasher and switch on to a high temperature setting.

  • Please follow rubbish disposal instructions precisely!

We hope that you approve of these precautions and that they do not detract from your visit, but rather offer you the reassurance needed for you to have a relaxed stay at Madeira Cottage.
